The Cake & The Caterer is located in Bloomington, Indiana and serves its surrounding areas. We offer a wide variety in cake flavors, icing types, fillings, and design as well as a robust catering menu. We are one of the few cake designers that are willing to create 3-dimensional sculpted cakes and custom designed wedding cakes.

Nick Farkas is the owner and chef of The Cake and the Caterer.  Specializing in custom menus and cakes for special events, Nick has become popular with clients looking for distinctive and appetizing creations, he graduated from the New York Restaurant school and has a rich background in culinary arts.  His culinary talents enable us to offer customized menus for every special event.

We are proud members of ICES, which is an international organization of over 4000 members who all share the love of Sugar Artistry. We subscribe to several cake decorating magazines to expose ourselves to any and all new decorating techniques and ideas, and maintain a relationship with decorators all over the world on several cake decorating message-boards that we subscribe to. We do our best to stay on top of current trends and the latest decorating techniques!

We’re proud to say that we’ve had cakes featured in publications such as “American Cake Decorating”, “Mailbox News”, and “Organic Style Magazine”, and at places such as “Candyland Crafts”. We also took first place in the Professional Division of the 2003 Bloomington Chocolate Fest!
